![]() Chris Chris Albon, Governance Project Director Chris leads FrontlineSMS’ governance project. Prior to joining FrontlineSMS, Chris earned a Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, Davis. His research focused on the drivers of government and rebel behavior towards health system destruction and reconstruction. Chris is also an active blogger and writer, contributing to United Nations Dispatch, ForeignPolicy.com, TheAtlantic.com, and other publications. In 2008, Chris founded Conflict Health, a blog on the defense of health and health workers against persecution, violence, and armed conflict. You can often find him on Twitter. |

Alex Anderson, Lead DeveloperAlex joined FrontlineSMS in December 2009 as Lead Developer, having been a contributor to the project since December 2007. Alex leads the software design, development and QA, as well as end user support. He has been actively developing software for over 10 years, working with mobile technologies since 2004, and more actively in ICT4D since 2007. His past projects have included mobile money systems in Sudan, mobile banking in Nigeria, mobile rail ticketing across the UK and mobile mapping. |

Mark Ekisa, Developer Ekisa joined FrontlineSMS in September 2012. He brings his skills and experience having worked with Clinton Health Access Initiative as well as Division of Disease Surveillance and Response in the Kenyan Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation. He brings in experience in web and mobile development. Ekisa is an alumni of Strathmore Univeristy with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology

Laura Walker Hudson, Chief Executive Officer, FoundationLaura joined FrontlineSMS in March 2010 and leads on our not-for-profit work, specifically software development and user engagement. Previously, Laura worked for British Red Cross on humanitarian policy and learning. Focused on innovation, urbanization, cash transfer programming and civil-military relations, Laura served for three years as Secretary of the NGO-Military Contact Group and helped develop and deliver a comprehensive five-year strategic planning arc for BRC’s international work. Laura is currently a Steering Group member for Enhancing Learning and Research in Humanitarian Action (ELRHA) and is engaged with the Communicating with Disaster Affected Communities (CDAC) Network. |

Sitati Kituyi, Developer
Sitati joined FrontlineSMS as a developer in 2012, having previously worked in telecoms for Logica UK. With his past experience being in large organizations in the global finance and telecoms industries, he is now enjoying working in a smaller, more dynamic development team. Sitati holds an MEng in Computer Engineering from the University of Manchester, having graduated in 2010. |

Trevor Knoblich, Media Project Manager Trevor joined FrontlineSMS in June 2012, and leads FrontlineSMS’ Knight Media Project. Prior to joining FrontlineSMS, Trevor worked as a humanitarian response coordinator with Lutheran World Relief, developing practices and protocols for emergency response in developing countries. His experience includes developing mapping and tracking systems for deployment of humanitarian aid. Before that, Trevor worked as a federal policy reporter in Washington, DC. His role allows him to combine his skills and experience in both international development and journalism. You can find him on twitter. |
| Sean McDonald, Chief Executive Officer, Community Interest Company; Executive Director FrontlineSMS:LegalSean Martin McDonald is the CEO of FrontlineSMS’s social enterprise, the kiwanja UK Company Interest Company, and the founder of the FrontlineSMS:Legal project. Sean joined FrontlineSMS in 2010 and leads the day-to-day operation, strategic direction, and project-driven application of FrontlineSMS. Prior to FrontlineSMS, he held a number of positions with technology firms, international development organizations, legal services non-profits, and the U.S. Senate. Sean is an advisor to the Clinton Global Initiative, TechChange, Digital Democracy, and an affiliate expert with UNDP. He sits on the Board of Directors of International Peace Park Expeditions Foundation, the kiwanja UK CIC, and the kiwanja Foundation. Sean is a lawyer, licensed in New York, holding a J.D. and an M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution from American University. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Magazine Journalism, Government and Spanish at the University of Maryland. |
| Geoffrey Muchai, Developer After acquiring an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Computer Science, Geoffrey specialized in mobile applications for development. He acquired training on Java Mobile Applications from eMobilis before joining FrontlineSMS as a Software developer in 2011. Geoffrey is a key part of the FrontlineSMS developer team, and is helping improve and re-develop our core software platform. In previous experience Geoffrey has developed a mobile J2ME application for bidhaatele.com, for Nokia.

| Enock Musyoka, Project Assistant, FrontlineSMS: CreditEnock joined the FrontlineSMS:Credit team as an intern in September 2011 and in June 2012 was confirmed as the Project Assistant. Previously, Enock was the Project Coordinator for a weekly talk show for young urbanites in Kenya called 7-2-7 at Twa-Tawala Trust. He also worked as a database and service specialist at Information Systems Solutions Limited (ISAS), was tasked with ensuring servers ran through troubleshooting and routine maintenance, running and administering the MSQL database engine technology. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Technology from the Kenya Methodist University. |
| Christine Mwangi, Administrative AssistantChristine recently graduated in Computer Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). She has been involved in an internship program at Nethope Academy as well as work for Voyage Afrique Ltd as a web developer and IT support assistant. She joined FrontlineSMS in January 2013 as an intern and later joined the staff in April 2013. She is excited to learn more about the impact of SMS and mobile technology has in improving people’s lives. |
| Amy O’Donnell, Project Manager, FrontlineSMS: Radio Amy joined FrontlineSMS at the beginning of 2011 to lead the FrontlineSMS: Radio project and to help with early phases of FrontlineSMS Version 2. Amy has built on her work with FrontlineSMS:Radio, and is using her expertise to contribute to the Knight News Challenge Project. Prior to FrontlineSMS, Amy was a project Coordinator at the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization, where she supported minority groups and indigenous communities to develop human rights campaigns and access international fora. She also previously worked for Action Against Hunger and Amnesty International. Amy holds a MA in Human Rights from UCL. |

Okal Otieno, Developer
Okal joins the FrontlineSMS team as a Software Developer after hanging his gloves following a short, painful career as a freelance Web Developer, happy to ease into the fresh challenge a 9-to-5 role. He recently completed his studies towards a Bachelor of Science in Electronic and Computer Engineering at Jomo Kenyatta University. Misplaced pixels and failing unit tests torture him in his sleep, and he’d kill for a good bar of chocolate. Seriously. |
| Vaneyck Otoki, Developer Vaneyck joined FrontlineSMS as a developer at the end of April 2012. Vaneyck has just recently completed his Undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Jomo Kenyatta University in Kenya. He brings to the team a high level of skill in web application development. Vaneyck is excited to be working with FrontlineSMS, because he finds joy in seeing how technology can transform communities around the world. |

Alex Pitkin, Product Manager and Business AnalystPitkin joined FrontlineSMS in Nairobi in January 2013. Pitkin is involved in keeping all areas of the production team running smoothly including product development, technical designs, UX/UI work and the plethora of agile processes. Pitkin’s focus also lies client-side, consulting new and existing users of the system. Pitkin is a scrum master, agile consultant and digital production specialist. He has been working in the online world for around 7 years with experience in consultation & crowd sourcing web apps, viral marketing and general internet goodness. Pitkin holds an MEng in Computer Science from the University of Bristol. |

Cathryn Stickel, Operations Manager Cathryn joined FrontlineSMS in January 2012 as the Operations Manager for the Washington, DC team. In her role, Cathryn coordinates logistics, supports a full-range of key FrontlineSMS projects, and is helping to establish our DC Office. Prior to FrontlineSMS, Cathryn worked at the George Washington University where she also received her MA in Global Communications in 2011. |

Joram Tayo, Finance Officer
Joram joined FrontlineSMS in November 2012, having previously worked with Co-operative Housing Foundation (CHF) International. He brings to the team a wealth of experience in multiple donor grants management, contract management, budgeting, financial accounting and staff administration in the not-for-profit sector. He is a Certified Public Accountant and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the Kenya Methodist University. |
