| Matthias Armbruster, Data Analysis
Matthias is currently studying Business Informatics at the University of Mannheim, Germany. His thesis deals with the influence of cognitive and affective factors on human information behavior. Ever since a term abroad in India, Matthias has been interested in how information and communication technologies can make a difference in people’s lives, and how such systems should be designed with the user in mind. Matthias is currently helping with data analysis at FrontlineSMS. |
| Juliana Bedoya Carmona, Monitoring and Evaluation
Juliana Bedoya Carmona is currently a candidate for a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. She is her studies on international organizations and international public management. Before coming to Fletcher Juliana worked on education and youth policy issues in Latin America and the Caribbean. Juliana is currently working as part of a team from the Fletcher school who are helping to design a monitoring and evaluation methodology aimed at monitoring the impact of FrontlineSMS software. |
| Bronwyn Cooke, Monitoring and Evaluation
Bronwyn is a Master’s Candidate in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning at Tufts University. Her thesis work is a process evaluation of Community Supported Fisheries models in New England. Prior to this she worked at the New England Aquarium for five years in marine conservation education. She is excited to use her skills in evaluation methodology to help support FrontlineSMS in evaluating the impact use of their software is having across the world. |
| Shuvam Dutta, Monitoring and Evaluation
Shuvam is a Scholar at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, working towards an M.A. in International Development. Prior to pursuing his graduate studies, Shuvam worked as an investment banker for 4 years focusing on Natural Resources, Transportation and Infrastructure. He’s also worked as an education volunteer at Child Relief and You (CRY) and as a policy intern with the Monetary Authority of Singapore. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Information Systems (Summa Cum Laude) from Singapore Management University. At FrontlineSMS, Shuvam is helping support work on monitoring and evaluating the impact of our software. |
| Megan Goldshine, Graphic Design
As a recent graduate from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, Megan’s passions lie within the field of communications. Her background includes a degree in Public Relations, with an emphasis on the impact of graphic design and copy. Megan met FrontlineSMS founder Ken Banks by-chance whilst she was a summer intern with the National Geographic Channel in 2010. She has since provided FrontlineSMS with valuable graphic design and digital layout support. |
| Aleksei Ivanov, Software Testing and Translation
Aleksei has a degree in Computer Science from Moscow State Technical University (MSTU). He specialises in computing machinery, systems, complexes and networks. He has been a great help for FrontlineSMS over the last year and a half, providing assistance with software testing and quality assurance, full FrontlineSMS localisation into Russian and Ukrainian languages, and community consulting. |
| Mathias Lin, Android Development
Mathias is founder and managing director at Meta Healthcare – a Hong Kong based social enterprise with a focus on healthcare management and communication. Meta Healthcare develop mobile healthcare IT solutions to help healthcare providers streamline their workflow, and serve their patients more efficiently. It’s target market is divided into two segments: developed countries (commercial) and developing countries (non-profit). Mathias is currently working on a port of FrontlineSMS for the Google Android platform. |
| Domingo Liotta, Community Forum Support
Domingo teaches Medical Informatics and Physiology at the University of Morón, Buenos Aires in Argentina. He has managed a Stress Exercise Laboratory, working as a Clinical Researcher and Assisting Physician for more than 10 years. Currently, Domingo is working to expand the implementation of e-health and m-health use in medical education and telemedicine applications. Domingo helps provide user support on our Community Forum, and he regularly promotes FrontlineSMS to new contacts in Argentina, too! |
| Tom Marentette, Community Forum Support
Tom works at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana and has over 15 years of experience in Information and Communications Technologies. His background includes a degree in Telecommunications from Eastern Michigan University, with core strengths in data networking and enterprise ICT project management. He is passionate about mobile technology and its impact for social good. Tom is assisting the team with support on our Community Forum. |
| Amanda Meng, Monitoring and Evaluation
Amanda Meng is originally from Atlanta. Upon graduation from Georgia Tech, she served as a US Peace Corps Volunteer, working in the Education and Information Communication Technology Sector in the northern foothills of the Dominican Republic. She is now a first year Masters student at the Fletcher School at Tufts University in Boston. Amanda is part of the team from the Fletcher School developing a framework with which to monitor and evaluate the impact of FrontlineSMS software. |
| Kike Oyenuga, Project Assistant Intern
Kike is studying for her Master’s degree in Migration, Mobility and Development at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. She is currently working on her thesis, which explores neoliberal policies and their role in the trafficking of Nigerian women to Europe. Having had several years of work experience in the field of media and communications, Kike hopes to put her background and her studies to practical use during her time at FrontlineSMS. She is also keen to learn how mobile technology is optimized to serve as an effective tool for development. During her time with FrontlineSMS, Kike will be helping with user resources and community building. |
| Stefania Perna, Community Project Assistant
Stefania is a PhD Candidate at the Graduate Institute of Political and International Relations at the University of Reading, UK. Her research is focused on integrating information gathered through crowdsourcing into risk assessments and early warning tools for preventing electoral-related violence. She also holds a BA in International Relations, a Master of Philosophy in Economics and International Relations and an MA in Geopolitics. Before joining FrontlineSMS she has worked with United Nations Development Program, at the Joint Task Force on Electoral Assistance in Brussels. Her passion: empowering people! |
| Kavita Rajah, Community Project Assistant
Kavita has recently completed her Masters in Human Rights at Kingston University, London. She is passionate about achieving poverty eradication through local empowerment, accountability and transparency. Prior to obtaining her Masters, Kavita worked in the IT industry for 4 years as a Project Manager supporting the development and deployment of software applications inclusive of mobile technologies. She hopes to combine her skills as she explores the intersection of Human Rights and Technology She joins Frontline SMS as a Community Project Assistant and will be providing support in communications, user support and research. |

Molly Redding, Survey Analysis and Database Support Molly is currently obtaining an MSc in Gender, Development and Globalisation at the London School of Economics. She is interested in writing her dissertation on the gendered effects of mobile phone use in the developing world. Molly is currently helping analyse FrontlineSMS survey results and supporting work on establishing a FrontlineSMS user database. |

Peter Westman, FrontlineSMS:Radio Project Assistant Peter is the Radio Project Assistant for FrontlineSMS:Radio. He recently graduated from UCL with a MSc in Digital Anthropology and will be starting a PhD later this year at the University of Wolverhampton focusing on the use of digital ethnography as a transferable educational tool. He previously worked for several years with an Indian microfinance institution in the Himalayan foothills, which sparked his interest in low-cost and portable ICT solutions. During his time with FrontlineSMS, he will be helping with coordination and user experience monitoring of the new FrontlineSMS:Radio software. |
