Beta Products
The products below are our beta releases – early versions of software which we want to make available for use and testing, but which aren’t final releases.
Releasing these products as ‘beta’ means they are still currently in a testing stage of development; they are not finished products and may contain bugs. We therefore cannot take responsibility for loss of data or malfunction and we are only able to provide limited user support and resources. That said, we hope that you find these products helpful to test out and we will look forward to your feedback!
FrontlineSMS Version 2 for Linux
The Linux version of FrontlineSMS Version 2 has not had significant testing and is not fully supported by our software team. However, we would welcome any feedback and testing our users are able to offer. If you have feedback and comments for us, please post them on this dedicated thread on our forum. FrontlineSMS:Credit \\$/
PaymentView
The first product from FrontlineSMS:Credit, PaymentView, is a software application that allows users to send, receive, and manage mobile money transactions using a laptop and a GSM modem. Our goal is to make it easy for organizations to get started using mobile money in their work, decreasing operational expenses and increasing efficiency. PaymentView tracks all sent and received payments, providing access to real-time data about transactions that can easily be exported as a .csv file for financial reporting or further analysis. In addition, PaymentView helps you to manage short-term credit, installment payment plans, or accounts receivable. The software is pre-configured to work with M-PESA in Kenya but can be adapted to work with many other payment systems around the world. At present, PaymentView is not a full release but a ‘beta’ release, which means – as outlined above – it is in a testing stage of development. We are currently seeking organizations that might want to partner with us to test the software in real-life situations (we’re focusing on Kenya, but are open to partners from any country). PaymentView is currently built on Version 1 of FrontlineSMS, but will be extended onto FrontlineSMS Version 2 in future. Please contact us via our contact form or send an email to info@credit.frontlinesms.com for more information. To download PaymentView directly click here. FrontlineSMS:Learn \\?/
FrontlineSMS:Learn
FrontlineSMS:Learn is a version of the FrontlineSMS platform that uses SMS—text messages— to provide learning and evaluation support to educators and development programs all over the world. The FrontlineSMS team, in partnership with the USAID-sponsored SHOPS Project implemented by Abt. Associates, Jhpiego, and Marie Stopes International, designed this tool to help local schools, trainers, and educators increase knowledge retention, facilitate long-term changes in behavior, and, ultimately, improve the quality of education and training in the last mile. Please note, however, that this is a beta FrontlineSMS:Learn product and not a full release, meaning that we’ve done our very best, but the software is not complete and may contain a few bugs. At this stage, we are hoping that users will download and test FrontlineSMS:Learn, finding new and interesting ways to improve, break, and help us finalize the software in advance of a complete release. It is important that users understand that we cannot take responsibility for loss of data or malfunction and we are only able to provide limited user support and resources, at this time. FrontlineSMS:Learn is currently built on Version 1 of FrontlineSMS, but will be extended onto FrontlineSMS Version 2 in future. To download FrontlineSMS:Learn directly click here. We do appreciate your feedback you have on the software, which we’re hoping you’ll email to feedback@frontlinesms.com along with any other questions or concerns. If you need support with FrontlineSMS:Learn, please visit our community support forum.
