How do I create and send my log files, to help with troubleshooting?
One of the most effective ways for us to help you troubleshoot any FrontlineSMS issues that you aren’t able to resolve is to analyze your log files. These files are generated while you use FrontlineSMS and can be sent back to us over the Internet, if you have an active Internet connection.
Please note: Before sending any log files, we recommend that you look for solutions in the FrontlineSMS Help files (available online or by clicking the Help option within the top bar menu of FrontlineSMS) or in the FrontlineSMS Community Forum (search previous discussions using the top right search function to find relevant topics. If you have a new question, go to the forum tab, and click Add+ to start a new discussion).
Once you have tried all of the above you may still want to send your log files, and you can do so by following these steps:
- Ensure you are connected to the Internet.
- In FrontlineSMS, click the Help menu, and click Submit Error Report.
Tip: The file may take a couple of minutes to send, particularly if you have a large database, so don’t close the FrontlineSMS until it’s been sent.
