You can backup the actual database and your settings by copying the FrontlineSMS system folder to a USB stick or a backup hard drive. To find the location of the database in FrontlineSMS, see Settings in the online Help.

To backup your FrontlineSMS database, follow these steps:
1. Close the FrontlineSMS application.
2. Copy the FrontlineSMS system folder.
3. Open the FrontlineSMS application.

There is no automated way of doing this at the moment, although most users who do backups will backup their entire systems, which also makes copies of the database files.

If you use an external database, such as MySQL, then any database backup solutions for that database program will allow you to backup or duplicate data in an automated way.

We strongly recommend that users follow good data integrity practice and back up their data regularly.
