A mobile phone handset can be connected to a computer using a cable or using a Bluetooth connection. To connect the device to the computer, follow the instructions given in the handset’s instruction manual, and/or any set-up wizard available in the computer’s operating system or the handset’s drivers.

Users have found that using a Bluetooth connection can be a less reliable format, as it can tie up the handset and prevent it from sending SMS. We recommend that you send test messages to assess how reliable your phone’s connection is, and test it under varying conditions (e.g. different distances from the laptop, or when the laptop is on powersave mode).
